Penelope and Medea  are plays written by Cypriot playwright Yiannis Agisilaou. Both plays were presented as staged readings by renowned actress Christina Pavlidou and directed by the playwright. HAMM Broductions launched this idea under the name Playwrights Directing Their Plays, as an effort to bring theatre closer to what we would call, "The theatre of the playwright". The idea was a success in its first year of presenting, with many playwrights showing interest in participating in the future. Audience members described it as a great opportunity to use their imagination to "see" the play, therefore transforming them from passive to active viewers.
