Penelope and Medea
Penelope and Medea are plays written by Cypriot playwright Yiannis Agisilaou. Both plays were presented as staged readings by renowned actress Christina Pavlidou and directed by the playwright. HAMM Broductions launched this idea under the name Playwrights Directing Their Plays, as an effort to bring theatre closer to what we would call, "The theatre of the playwright". The idea was a success in its first year of presenting, with many playwrights showing interest in participating in the future. Audience members described it as a great opportunity to use their imagination to "see" the play, therefore transforming them from passive to active viewers.
Emerged | Αναδυομένη
Emerged is a reworking of Greek playwright Grigorios Xenopoulo's classic novel Emerged (Αναδυομένη), directed by Michalis Kolokotronis and Sophia Mavromichalis. The renowned and multi awarded by the Cyprus Broadcasting Channel (CYBC) and the National Theatre of Cyprus (THOC) Marianna Galidis, in a personal statement, praised the show saying, "It moves and gives me so much joy, when the outcome is as magical, moving, playful, seductive and imaginative as the performance Emerged. I left the theatre in a dreamlike state".
